Thank you so much for this post. I have been constantly overthinking what I think is a sign God has given me to the point where I am exhausted and that isn't what he wants. This article really helped me figure out exactly what to follow.
Thank you, Chris! What a well written, spot-on piece. It is a helpful "back-to-the-basics" reminder for any level of believer. The Lord used a few key sentences to move me out of the ditch I was slugging through and steer me back to the main road. 😁 Excellent!
This was a great read, and goes along perfectly with what ive experienced myself the past year or two. So often, we forget that God is a relational being and He truly desires a personal relationship with us. We do lipservice to that, but we live experientially like its untrue. But God does, infact, speak to His children
In my life I have learned that the God who created communication knows very well how to communicate with me in unmistakable ways.
But often I don't hear because I am not willing to receive any answer from Him. I am waiting to hear a specific answer already framed by my desires and the options I defined.
So becoming willing to enter God's conversation with me instead of staying in my conversation with Him is often my biggest stumbling block.
Am I ready for His answer - whatever it is? Once I am here, it becomes almost intuitive to hear and obey.
Great article and consistent to my understanding. Yes, the key is trusting him and growing in faith. I’m learning to listen to God myself. I’ve noticed certain patterns personally. He speaks then confirms, speaks then confirms. He’s never shown the full picture but glimpses. If you’ve heard wrong he will figure out a way to direct you to the right path. Be aware you may get confused as our adversary looks for someone to devour so he does toss things in the similar way God speaks. This is God’s way to guide you for better listening. Ultimately he is our Sheppard, our rock and our salvation.
Good Afternoon Pastor Chris I am writing to you because I have so many questions and I feel like I am wrong in asking questions because my Mother always used to say never Question GOD but how am I to know if I do not Question GOD Do you feel like it is a good or bad Idea that I have questions does that make me Disobedient please help?
My sheep hear My voice. They don’t recognize His voice because they learned a formula they recognize it because they know the Shepherd. Intimacy is what develops discernment.
If you want to hear the word of God, read the Bible.
If you want to hear God speak out loud, read the scripture out loud.
On point. Rings very true. We want control and certainty. He wants our trust + faith. One illuminated step at a time.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.”

Amen, Pastor. Jesus said,
