Chris, you know what really touched me about Elijah's story? God didn't give him a lecture about needing more faith or tell him to get himself together. God let him rest and made sure he had something to eat; I love that!
We put so much pressure on ourselves to stay strong and keep going that we forget it's okay to be tired. I've had to remind myself of that more than once, and there's something comforting about knowing that God understands our exhaustion without making us feel guilty for it.
I also appreciated you opening up about the time you thought your ministry was over. That couldn't have been easy, especially when it was something you felt called to do. It got me thinking about how difficult it can be to see God working when life takes a turn we never expected.
I don't think every season of isolation is necessarily something God planned for us, but I do believe He can meet us in those difficult places and help us grow through them.
That's what I love most about Elijah's story; even when he felt like he couldn't go on, God hadn't given up on him.
This is exactly where I am -- a season of isolation -- set apart from most everything I've known for the last 20 years. And I know the Lord led me here. Though it's been hard, it's also been amazing. And it continues to transform my inner life. The Lord knows what He is doing. Thank you so much, Chris, for this article. Exactly what I needed!

“Isolation often precedes clarity.
Because when everything else quiets down, God’s voice becomes clearer.”
Such a good reminder- thank you!
